Hi,

Has anyone here taken five HLs? What tortures did you use to persuade office to allow you do that?

Hi,

Has anyone here taken five HLs? What tortures did you use to persuade office to allow you do that?

I want to take 5 HLs too. One person I know has done it, but not at my local IB. My IB coordinator won't let me do it.

Are you a diploma candidate or are you trying to get 5 HL certificates? I think that for a diploma candidate, no more than 4 can be HL exams. So you would still need 2 SL exams.
But if you are trying to get five certificates, try taking 2 one year and three the other.
Why do you want to do this? Why not have a life instead?

I'm planning to be a diploma candidate. I want to get 5 HLs just because I love those classes that are offered (I'm lucky, eh? :)) and want to have some challenge(not for college, for myself) :)

Edit: But I won't die if I'll get four HLs, I'm curious how it's possible to get five HLs.

What do you have for ECs?
All academics and no ECs make for a bland applicant.

My daughter just got her diploma. She had all honors and some AP courses freshman and sophomore year and played two sports. Junior year: IB + two sports = burned out kid because spring playoffs went almost to IB testing. Senior year: 3 HLs + fall sport + spring musical which was in early April = much happier kid with good ECs and an IB diploma.

hehe thats funny =P

Well, at my school, there's been lots of people who've taken 5 or even 6 HLs just for the extra certificate. Talk to your IB coordinator. I personally wouldn't do it because it's just extra work and I've already taken the APs for the classes so I already have the college credit. I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad though.

mr.chipset one of my freidsn that's a freshmen won the Captain spot. He beat the captain\ who's going to be a senior.

^ what's the point of that post?

i think i'm taking 5 or 6 hl ib's and 2 more sl ib's and i also took 1 sl ib last year. they're easy if you know the material (the hard part)
