Well, my Vanderbilt student can't wait to get back to Nashville, and we're pretty much counting the days ourselves ... but my question is, has anyone received a bill yet? I seem to remember receiving a kind of "preview" bill for each semester last year 6-8 weeks in advance, letting us know what to expect and when the due date is. I received an invoice for end-of-the-spring semester charges last month, but nothing for fall 2006 yet. Anyone else?

I know I could call the Student Accounts office next week, and maybe I will - but I always have a very un-Vanderbilt experience when I talk to those folks.

I won't swear to it, but I think the fall semester bill goes out in early July. Seems like it is due in the first week - 10 days of August.

We haven't received a bill yet, as far as I know...(though I have been on vacation for a week.) Don't worry, I'm sure they'll bill you!

My S also can't wait to go back, in fact he's going down a few days before move-in for a concert in Nashville. What a difference a year makes...last summer I was busy making so many preparations...this coming year we're not even going with him to help him move in.

We got an information sheet today with a preview of anticipated costs, scholarships, etc. We are local so you will probably get yours soon.

Thanks, all! I found a little info on the website last night, which said that an advance bill would be sent around July 1 and payment would be due August 16th. My d is actually moving in earlier than that because she's doing the DOREsteps program and is very excited about it. I am THRILLED that she can move in before the hordes arrive!

Has anyone else had to call Student Accounts for anything? At the beginning of 2nd semester, I had to make multiple phone calls because my d's small outside scholarship wasn't credited to her account. It was the standard situation you face when you're dealing with impersonal institutions - Student Accounts claimed they'd billed the bank that administers the scholarship, while the bank claimed they'd never received the bill - which meant I was talking to several dispirited corporate cogs, none of whom really cared whether my d got the rest of her scholarship or not. I couldn't believe it was the same Vanderbilt, because every encounter I've had with anyone on campus has been utterly professional and pleasant.

Wow, Bridie - how nice that your son is moving himself in! Is he driving all that way, or did he store a lot over the summer? Wish we'd done that - we were ridiculously overpacked on our way home, even with d farming out her largest items to local friends and mailing back 100 pounds of stuff!

Is anyone on the Tuition Management program? What constitutes the bill that we have to pay? It isn't just only the EFC since the bill that we are paying isn't our EFC. Last year it was lower. This year it says it's higher.

Financial aid info for fall may be on the website. Try going to Vanderbilt Home page, Students, Financial Aid, Access Your Financial Aid. You will need to login using the student's login name and password.

We are from Tennessee and the Lottery Scholarship(s) are not included on my son's financial awards. Is anybody else who is from Tennessee seeing those awards listed on their financial aid info?

doremom, wouldn't that be considered an outside scholarship? Last year only Vanderbilt's own scholarships were on our initial notification; it took some paperwork filing to have my d's outside scholarship added.

I just spoke with Financial Aid. It was an oversight that the Lottery Scholarships were omitted from my son's award notice. His other outside scholarships were listed on the notice probably because we have already sent the necessary paperwork. Thanks.
