We have received the outing club, the housing and the roommate assignments, but we still haven't sent them a dime. When do we get the BILL, or have I missed something?

Don't worry, you will get the Fall bill within the next week or 2 (they probably just processed them this week) remember school does not start until mid September.

Welcome to Dartmouth! They don't seem overly worried about getting their money to me. We have a pre-paid college tuition plan that pays benefits from our state to Dartmouth, and it has taken 3-4 phone calls/letters for each term to get the benefits paid. But, Dartmouth, bless their souls, just says deduct the expected benefits, and settle up later, so that's what we do each quarter and just keep an eye on it. You will get a bill soon. Have the English 5 placements arrived yet? Dughter's first bill came about 2 weeks after that.

I just LOVE this school: no May 1 deposits, no tuition bills, order laptons online with no $$, nada! It's more laid back that Berkeley in its heyday.

seriously, tho, it's probably more due to the fact that summer quarter in still in full swing.

nobody has gotten a bill yet, not even returning students. the fall term bill won't be due until sometime around the end of the first week in September.

I can't believe they don't want $omething sooner.

The "no deposit" thing kinda spooked me; I guess I wanted to pay something to be sure that acceptance was for real.

I guess I am one of a few, but I signed up months ago for the monthly automatic debit plan and have, in fact, already made 3 tuition payments. By the time S actually starts class, 40% of his tuition bill will already have been paid!

runmanstl:

can you adopt my kid? LOL

bluelayou:

Only if he/she has a trust fund awaiting his/her maturity...these tuition payments are PAINFUL. But we LOVE Dartmouth so-o-o much that we don't mind even a little bit watching the $$$ disappear automatically from our account the first of the month (insert major sarcasm).

What I really want to know is why isn't anyone else forking over the dough yet? Is the "special" monthly plan only for us yahooes in Missouri??? LOL

We had actually looked at the monthly plan a year ago, and didn't think it made sense precisely because you wind up paying so much money so much earlier than everyone else does. I figured that I could put aside that amount on a monthly basis and then pay it several months later. NOW if that makes you a yahoo, well .....

no trust fund nor dowery in this house. We're on the Finaid plan earning meager interest awaiting the BIG invoice.

runmastl ....i use the monthly plan (along with loans)..son an 08 so starting 3rd year
it works fine and youll feel a break in the spring for a few months
to other parents the loans and the payments and any outside scholarships
all get sorted out ..

Bill came in the mail today.

Dated: Auguest 11
Due: September 6

thank goodness the Pony Express does not arrive 'til next week.
