Question for recent Pitt alumni

Hi I am interested in applying to Pitt. Currently, I am working on the essay questions. One of the questions is “Why Pitt?”. I wanted to get more information on what makes Pitt stand out from the other schools, how experiences studying there influenced you, or what some of your favorite experiences were.Thank you!

I think in the essay they are looking for reasons why Pitt might be a good fit for you.

If you haven’t visited yet, you should!

@Vb10589, It is certainly up to you how you answer the questions. I will say, the purpose of the short answer questions is to get to know you better. So when we ask you “why Pitt”, the Admissions Committee would benefit from knowing how the University will be a good fit for you rather than the experiences of alumni.

If you have questions about how Pitt fits for you, feel free to ask me here about whether Pitt offers specific programs that interest you, visit our website (oafa.pitt.edu), or come tour campus. There are many opportunities available at Pitt for a wide variety of people with diverse interests.

Hope that helps!

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
