Greetings, Fellow Canuck!

Are you sure the provincial exams are optional? Over here in Alta they are required. The US universities may not explicitly require the tests, but I imagine if they are getting exam marks from any other BC students, they'll wonder why you didn't provide them too. So, I would just do the tests.

BUMP
I REALLY wanted to ask this question too. I took Physics 12 this summer but decided not to write my provincial exam since I was totally unprepared for it.
I heard from my spanish teacher that the states universities "won't even look at your app" if you decide not to write provincials, but I highly doubt it...

I read somewhere that most parts of Canada have an unreal low grading scale... 80-100% is an A!
80% at some of our schools is actually a B- or even a C so I would think people from Canada GPA would not equal ours and it would be hard for many to try to go to school here

That last response is meaningless. Every province in Canada has entirely different educational system. Moreover, schools vary by grades. Schools using percentages record percentages on transcripts and that is what is seen by colleges. At my daughter's HS, a typical average in a course is about 73%.
