Do you have to write answers to the questions in the little boxes? Like the Stanford app has a 200 character response box to your career interests? If you're not sure what you want to do do you still have to fill those in? And do these answers have to be great and wildly creative or will plain language work?

space is always intentional. take limits with a grain of salt. if you were to type it, your length should be no longer than reasonable. if you're not sure, talk about how you're not sure -- honesty is the best policy; readers have and will see(n) through fluff. answer all essays... but if you have to "declare a major" on a small line, it's perfectly okay to write "undecided".

creativity is based on your own judgment. don't be quirky on purpose, and /certainly/ don't be starchy on purpose, either. be real.
