It had been discussed in some old thread that a sternie with an SAT writing score > 700 could skip the Writing-The-Essay course and take Commerce-And-Culture instead. Is this still valid today or the bar has been raised to a 750+ SAT score?

I think it’s 750+. Writing the Essay is not bad… if you have bruce bromely (Easy A & You learn a lot from this brilliant man). C&C is harder to register for cuz a lot of people try to register for it so it gets filled up quickly.

Um… does anyone have a source for this? Does this apply to CAS?

I got an 800 on my SAT writing and would very much like to not have to take WTE.

Commerce and Cultures is only for stern kids. But luckily… CAS kids only have to take one semester of writing. Writing the essay is not that bad if u have Bruce Bromely. I’m getting an A in that class and trust me my writing sucks ballz.

Thanks Casto.
