<p>what if you by accidently write in the wrong date for one of your ECs. lets say you volunteered at a hospital in 2009 and wrote 2008 instead, will you get penalized? and do they really check with each volunteering organization to confirm if you've volunteered a specific amount of hours? i mean considering the fact that there are alot of apps to read, i doubt they'll do that, right?</p>
<p>No, colleges probably won’t investigate that deeply for something like that, especially if the college receives a good amount of applications. The only things I see colleges verifying are the big ECs that make big differences on the application, like national positions/awards that can be more easily verified.</p>
