I really hate making posts that aren't of general help to everyone, but maybe this one will be in some way.

So I got a 650 on the Bio M. I didn't really study and I planned on taking it again anyway (I just hopped I would get lucky and get 700+). Everyone I've talked to says it's a great score.

I'm not one of those people who feels that an A- is going to ruin my life (which is pretty much 75% of the people who use this board, no offense, but if you think that a 790 is a bad score, then you need serious help, and it's only going to hurt you later on).

Anyway, what I'm trying to ask is realistically on the Bio M test at what score should someone not bother retaking?

I think that this is relative to the context of the student. What does the rest of your academic profile look like? SAT I, GPA, Rank?

But more generally speaking, I think that you should not bother retaking the test if you feel that you would not be able to increase your score by at least 30 points. A 650 gives you some room for improvement and you said yourself that you planned on taking it again--I would retake it.

If the particular SAT II score is an "anchor" for your app, then retaking it is important. However, if other aspects of your app are fine, then don't bother wasting the time and money. A SAT II score won't make or break you.

i agree with PBailey
i also heard the Bio M is an easy SAT II test so if you study you might do really well...the curve on it isn't harsh i heard
