Question regarding APs and General Education Preferences

Hello, what should we put in courses if we have AP credit to use for the requirements? For example, I could use AP U.S. Gov credit for “GOV-110 Politics in the US.” Am I supposed to indicate this anywhere? Also, what if we have just taken AP tests this year and wish to use those scores (assuming we qualify with a 4 or 5, of course). What should we do to do to maximize credits obtained from AP exam scores?

Responses before the deadline are greatly appreciated, haha

When you meet with your adviser, tell him/her that you are using the AP Gov credits to satisfy one of the Gen Ed requirements and they will note it.

If you just took the AP test you are to take your best guess as to whether you scored high enough to get college credits. If you think you did, then don’t register for a gen ed that you will test out of. In the event that you did not do as well as you thought, you can change your schedule once you get back your scores or take the gen ed requirement next semester. I think my daughter paid to get her scores by phone - which is quicker - so she would know what to register for. She has never had any problems getting into the classes she wanted - just be sure to have a few backups and you should be fine.
