Hi, I'm currently a high school senior.

My first choice school is Cornell, and I really want to apply early there.

however, my status is Canadian,

and while Cornell is need-blind to Canadians, I hear that Cornell may not meet the demonstrated needs in terms of financial aid.

I am in dire need of financial aid..

so my questions are

If i apply through early decision, get in, but not get a sufficient amount of money,
can I break the ED agreement?

Assuming that I get in and don't get a good amount of money,
and assuming that I can break the ED agreement,
can I still choose to attend Cornell if my other schools also don't give me a good amount of money?

so, say i apply to UCLA and get in, but has to pay $30000 instead of Cornell's $50000(?),
can I still choose to attend Cornell (since they both are pretty insufficient, I would
have apply for loans anyways.. I would rather go to Cornell)?

As an international applicant who needs financial aid, everything is pretty much cloudy.
Most colleges are stingy when dealing with intl applicants :(

the ideal would be getting into Cornell ED and getting sufficient amount of aid,
but if things don't work out, my dad says he is willing to borrow money from the bank..

Thanks~
