Im a freshman right now and I supposedly have free tickets to home games. If i want to bring a friend (who does not go to Cal), can I purchase tickets that are seated with my free tickets? is there any way to do this?

If this is not possible, does anyone have any recommendations as to how to go about it? perhaps there is a way to trade tickets with other freshmen, move about the stands, or anything? thanks.

Don't take this the wrong way, and I mean no harm, but you've got everything all wrong.

I'm not sure what you mean but your "supposedly" having free tickets. You either have them or you don't. If you are a freshman or new transfer, you MUST sign up online through the athletics website to receive your tickets; sign-ups started on August 1 and sold out quickly. If you did sign up, you are seated in the Students Section. This is first-come, first-serve. You can sit anywhere you want in the designated sections, AMONG FELLOW STUDENTS. An "outsider" cannot purchase his/her way into these sections. There are occasionally students who bring friends into the sections by tricks involving wristbands, IDs, etc.; I don't condone these actions, but yeah, people do it. As a student's "tickets" are done electronically, there is no way to transfer or trade tickets; your tickets are written into your ID card. The only way to "give" someone your tickets would be to give them your ID card.

I signed up for my free tickets in Early August and then when I went to the Minn game they said I dont have any tickets registered. Same thing happened to other people.

i signed up for the student tickets in early august, does that mean i can just go to the game and swipe in?

i remember something saying that I actually need to register again for the specific game thats coming up prior to showing up and swiping in. is this right? or can i just go directly to the game. yes, i did sign up for the tickets in early august.

jhg888, if you already signed up, then you're good to go. You don't need to do anything else, just bring your ID card to the gates and swipe in.

smallz3141, yes, the Student Section stands up the entire game. I can't imagine any other student bodies not doing so for their home team, but I'm sure there are exceptions. Surprising that I don't really hear "Freshman stand up! Freshman stand up!" anymore, it's a great tradition. But then again, it's not a matter of standing up for the entire game, it's jumping up and down and screaming at the top of your lungs on every defensive possession and rooting as hard as you can for the rest of the game. Standing up is but a minimum requirement. =)
