i originally applied to tisch with plans to study film (and eventually add a producing minor). I was accepted into the liberal studies program for the fall of 2009 (class of 2013), which i'd be in for a year until I transfer to tisch. I'm currently realizing that I want to be in gallatin because I want to learn about the industry and take producing classes to learn about the industry, not the technical skills needed for film production. All of the tisch classes I'd like to take are part of the open-arts curriculum so i wouldn't have to be in a tisch major to take those classes. I'd like to take some pre-law and business courses.. Gallatin would be the best way to combine my film/business/law interests. There might be a way to combine those interests in tisch, but i would like to avoid technical and film production classes because i'm not really interested in studying the creative side of film making, i'm interested in studying the process and industry.

Would it be best to do LSP for one year, transition into tisch (in which i'd take classes that apply to my major) , then do an internal transfer to gallatin after my sophomore year? Or should I just do LSP for two years and try to do an internal transfer to gallatin after sophomore year? The benefit of the first scenario would be the ability to leave LSP after one year.

Would I be able to get avoid some LSP requirements that I might not need for gallatin if I did the lsp>tisch>gallatin route or would that just be a waste of energy and time?
