Question(s) about colleges that allow pets

Hi, hopefully this is in the right place, if not, I apologize. Like the title says, I was wondering if anybody knew any colleges that allow pets, or at least cats. I own a cat, and I have to bring it with me. One reason is because I would miss him, and he has really helped me when I had to much stress, etc going on. So, I know that with transfering to a college, I need him.

Second reason is, my mother is not an animal person. The only reason I actually was able to get my pet is if I promised to be the one to take care of it, and that it had to go with me when I go off to college (I've had him for 2 years, and he is pretty attached to me, so honestly leaving him is not an option.)

I've read the Top Ten Pet Colleges list, but I was wondering if besides the ones listed, if there were any other colleges that allowed them that were not listed. I don't really care if it is co-ed or an all womens college.

I know that Stetson allows pets. I can’t offer much information about their policies though. Sorry.

Not sure if Caltech is on the list, but I know they’re pretty lenient with their pet policy.

Alternatively, you could try to find schools where freshmen aren’t required to live in dorms freshman year and just find an off campus apartment that’s OK with pets.

I know Eckerd College in St Petersburg, Florida allows pets as well.

Agreed with RacinReaver.

An off campus apartment might be better for your cat. I was looking into that option when I was going to be moving to the west coast and it’s not a bad one.

Thank you everybody for you help. :)

@ RacinReaver and PRiNCESSMAHiNA; thank you for telling me about that, I hadn’t really thought about that, but that is a good idea, I’ll probably wind up doing that.
