I plan on majoring in business. I got a 4 on the AP Calc AB exam and I got a 25/25 on the CRA, so I plan on taking Survey of Calculus.

I got a 4 on the AP Chem exam and I do not wish to take a chemistry course at UF if I don't have to. Do I need to take the ChRA?

Is the ChRA mandatory for all incoming freshman? I am worried that they'll make me take it during preview. If I have to take it, I would rather do it before preview, so it doesn't cut into my scheduling time.

LuckyEights,

I went to Preview this past week and I am also a biz major. You definitely do not have to take the ChRA. You won't even need to take a chemistry course at UF.

And about the scheduling.. we pretty much had ALL night to do it. At the session I went to, they had about 3 different "rounds" for people who needed to take the readiness tests. You'll have plenty of time to make your schedule

My daughter is also a business major! What classes did you guys register for? She is taking MAC 2233 (Calc), CGS 2541 (required computer class), ECO2023 (Macroeconomics), WIS 2010 (Wildlife Issues - B credit...so she dosen't ever have to take chemistry!), and FOS ???? (Man's Food, a web class that is 3 credits toward biological science as well) for a grand total of 15 credits.

Here are the classes I signed up for (I will probably end up changing one of the sciences to CGS 2531 "Problem Solving Using Computer Software" - which I think is what you're referring to)

ECO2023 Microeconomics (Macro is ECO2013)
MAC2233 Survey of Calculus 1
FOS2001 Man's Food
SLS1102 Warrington Welcome (First Year Florida; You have to take this course to be eligible for the Florida Leadership Academy)
GLY1102 Age of Dinosaurs

As it turned out, I will have no classes on Tuesday (use this time to study for FOS2001). I will have classes on MWF for Periods 3 & 6. And two courses on R during Periods 2 & 6.

Yes, you are right. She is in MICRO economics. You are in three of the same classes as she is. She didn't take the first year florida course...she wasn't interested in the Leadership Academy.

Do you guys get any input on which teachers or teachers assistants you get? I know you can sort of manipulate what days/times to take a course, but do you have any knowledge of what teacher it is?

Yea, it's in that giant course catalog we got at Preview. It's also on-line here: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/ click on "Course Listings" and select a department. It should have the professor/ta/whatever listed otherwise it will say STAFF.

Also, when I was looking at a couple of course websites (created by the profs) they listed the TAs for the different sections.

I didn't know until Day 2 (at 5pm) that my First Year Florida course is going to be taught by the director of the Warrington College of Business
