Question..

If I apply ED2 or RD to Elliott for International Relations major, if my stats are borderline for Elliott but great for College of Arts and Science will they offer me a spot there or most likely just reject me/waitlist me if i dont get into Elliott.

You won't be deferred to the Columbian College. They use the same format to evaluate applicants across the board (with the exception of the School of Media and Public Affairs).

That's true for SMPA, but I didn't know it wasn't true across the board. My son didn't get into SMPA, but they "moved" him into a CAS acceptance. He was ED1.

nymom2sons- your son wasn't really "moved" to CCAS. By applying to SMPA he was also applying to CCAS. SMPA is in the CCAS school. Rabidchickens-I don't think it's easier to be accepted to CCAS than it is to the Elliot School. I think that's a misconception.

I didn't realize that... maybe because he was ED, they called him on the phone and asked if he'd want a binding ED acceptance to CAS.... it made it sound as though it was a choice.... that if he hadn't said yes, there wouldn't be repercussions for applying ED and unwilling to go to CAS without SMPA. It didn't really matter -- SMPA or not -- DC was the only city he wanted to be in... and GW the only school he wanted to go to.
