the only thing is, i still have a couple of colleges open - harvard/stanford.
and i just got an email by a yale admin person inviting me to lunch this weekend with like 10 other admitted students from around the state. is it ethical to go, considering im still deciding? or is this something you go to if you know for sure that you'll be at yale this fall?

Oh, you'll be fine- they know that you haven't committed and now the tables are turned-it would be a great way to ask questions, meet other admitted students and get a feel for what Yale has to offer. It is their turn to "sell" you know- the mistake would be to not take advantage of the opportunities they give you to get to know them!! Congrats!

Nick017, your reply is extremely cynical. I'm disappointed to read it knowing you are already admitted. Of course agupps should attend the lunch and whether s/he attends Y, the lunch is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn more about the world, not just a particular college.

With the competition as stiff as it is in either admission round, all of you who are accepted at Y can be sure that the university and its alumni and faculty really hope to see you on campus next year, but understand that there are many great choices when it comes to colleges.

Yale is a real, live place, not the land of Oz. As an applicant or an admittant, you are not a number or a rate nor are you a fantasy. The folks at Y wouldn't want any of those on campus anyway.
