Question...

I am applying to Penn RD.
However, I am almost done with my application--as in just putting finishing touches--since I worked on it a lot during the summer.
So, my question.

Does Penn (and other schools in that tier) look down on people who send in their RD application before the ED deadline? I am planning on submitting my app in October. I guess my worries are that 1) they'll think I slacked through my app (which I hope will be apparent that I didn't once they look at it, so not much of a worry) and 2) look down on the fact that I finished the app in time for the ED deadline but am not "passionate" enough about the school to apply there early. If any of that makes sense.

Am I just being paranoid?

Thanks for reading!

none of those questions are material. just submit the application on like December 15th or something and you’ll be fine.

So submitting RD app before ED deadline is bad? I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by “material”.

Thanks for the quick reply, by the way!

I meant none of that matters. I can’t say it looks good or bad and I doubt anyone in this forum can say so conclusively but assume the following:

If you submit it now, you risk a complication at no benefit. If you submit it later, you have no risk and no benefit.

^agreed. Plus if something comes up during the year that can help your app, you’ll still be able to add it.
