Questions about books (general)

When will we know what books we need to buy? Where can I look to find out?

About how much does a semesters worth of books cost? I'm in the 3 LSP classes and one LSP science elective.

Where is a good place to buy books at a decent price?

To find your book list, go here and enter your information. This list might not have all of the books you need, though. A lot of students seem to just find out from the professors during the first few days of classes and order their books then.

Here is a good site to find books. It compares prices of new and used books from various websites so you can find the cheapest ones.

abebooks.com and half.com will save your life. DONT BE AFRAID TO NOT GET THE NYU CUSTOM EDITION, OR THE LATEST EDITION. If you get the general one that isn’t NYU custom, or get one that is one edition back (especially if the new edition was released in 2010), you will save a ridiculous amount, and usually nothing really has changed except adding/taking away illustrations, as well as different pagination. Just double check with the sucker who got the original version. A buddy of mine a 2 years ago got the India International version of the Microeconomics textbook used at Stern. His price: $4.00 My price:$160.00. The key difference was graphs were moved around to different pages (completely inconsequential), and it was in black and white.
