Hello CollegeConfidential!
University of Rochester is one of my favorite schools on the radar so far, and my family is visiting in early August.
When I was filling out the first part of the application, basic information, and got to the bottom where it asks about special programs you are interested in, the GEAR engineering program struck my interest. I researched it a little, and it pretty much allows you to gain a Master's degree in engineering in 5 years. It sounds great, but I have a few questions:

-The UofR website made the program sound pretty competitive. I have good stats, but if I get rejected from the GEAR program can I still be accepted to Rochester's undergrad engineering school?

-Like I mentioned, the whole program sounds great to me, and I absolutely LOVE the University of Rochester, but I don't whether the GEAR program is right for me, or if it will be right for me 5 years from now. Can I submit the first part of the application now without checking off that I am interested in GEAR and if I decide it's what I want to do in a month from now, go back and change it? Or should I wait to submit the first part of the application until I have made up my mind?

Thanks so, so much everyone! I know this is lengthy, and probably confusing, but if no one knows the answers I'll just send an email to the admissions officers. I just figured I'd come here first before bothering them :)

Thanks again!
