I am a sophomore at asu that is planning on withdrawing due to horrible grades and failing most my classes. i am looking into transferring into a california community college either next semester and i have a few questions about this. Do i have to send them my grades at asu or can i chose to start over and not declare them I was wondering if went to a cc for 2 years and wanted to transfer to a uc, would they be able to see my grades at asu, and if they did would it matter. Also, am i still eligible for the TAG program.
You have to send them your grades.
Are you a California resident?
From the moment you start in college, you’re entered in a national clearinghouse. Your grades follow you everywhere. However when you start at a community college your GPA starts from zero.
So, you must present your grades at asu but it doesn’t matter since they admit everybody. Then it’s up to you whether or repeat the same mistakes as at asu, or correct course.
@MYOS1634 i am a california resident.
also another question i have is if i want to transfer to a UC, will it be hard because of the grades i got at asu, or will they consider the cc grades i got mostly
They’ll consider the grades you got at the c mostly, as long as they’re not a repeat of the asu grades. Essentially, this is your second chance, don’t blow it. If you don’t blow it, you’ll e good. If you give a hint of your grades getting back to asu level, they won’t think 'immaturity, zing far away from home ', they’ll think it reflects your work ethics as an adult abd/or your intelligence.
All of your previous college courses and grades will have to be reported when you apply to transfer. Of course, it may not matter when transferring to an open admission community college, but it will matter when transferring to a selective school like a UC or CSU.
