Questions about Interviews

So i got an email about u of miami FL interviews taking place at a hotel in my area next week? should i do it? is this legit... if i do well will it be looked highly upon... anyone???

thanks i neeed to rsvp soon if i decide to!

bump 10 char!

Canes, this sounds "Legit" to me. My D had a couple of interviews in hotel lobbies with admission reps of her target schools. She also got similar letters from those schools and called the admission offices to schedule a time slot. Some schools recommend interviews, some require them. It could be a chance for you to help the rep "attach" a human face to your application file. Do not panic, dress appropriately (no jeans or sweatshirts), relax and just be yourself. Good luck!

do you know what kinds of questions they ask you?

like what will you bring to the university?
what..... ahh i dunno any insight?

bump 10 char

and isnt there going to be lots of people at this event that i described above sooo what happens?

I don't know for these specific schools, but I can tell you things I've been asked in the past:

~ Favourite/ least favourite subject
~ Main strength/ weakness
~ Why you chose (specific school)
~ Where school ranks on your list
~ Things you considered when looking at colleges
~ ECs (I've been asked this at all three schools I have interviewed at. Two of them already had my completed application with resume and details on ECs; they still aksed.)
~ General "tell us about your school". How hard has it been?
~ What challeneges do you think you'll face in college?
~ What will you contribute to (specific school)?
