Questions About NYU!

So, i got accepted into NYU.

Now i need some questions answered that are not academically related, hopefully you guys can help!

1) I am under the impression that NYU uses "Macs" over "PC's", am I correct, and when attending, should I have a MacBook or a regular laptop will do. I am interested to see these responses.

2) As for housing, what freshman dorms are available, and can you rank them for me/ recommend me one?

I prefer to have my own bathroom, apart from that, I do not mind much.
Cleaner=Better.

Thanks in Advance!!

NYU CLASS OF 2016!!

NYU is very mac friendly, yes. Kimmel has macs. As does the Steinhardt computer labs.

However, Bobst and the computer center on washington place use PCs. Personally, I use the Steinhardt computer center it’s better than Kimmel and Bobst (in my opinion).

It doesn’t matter if you have a PC or a Mac. Personally, I use a mac. Most of my friends use macs. But there are a number of students who use PCs.

Third North (kitchen, newly renovated, bathroom to every 4 people)

Founders (very clean, new, nice views)

Hayden (older and less clean, but it has the location)

Weinstein (dining halls, location, but a bit dingy)

Rubin (no a/c, older, although it may have been renovated a bit, bathroom to every 2)

Brittany (avoid if you can)

I have a quick question. I am applying to NYU. for the supplement question, What intrigues you? Tell us about one work of art, scientific achievement, piece of literature, method of communication, or place in the world (a film, book, performance, website, event, location, etc.), and explain its significance to you, do you think i can use an album/cd that has impacted me to answer this question? Do you think it is classified as a work of art?

In terms of facilities, NYU computer labs offer both PC and Mac computers for students to use. In the one semester I have attended NYU, I have only seen one other person use a PC during lecture. I have a PC myself and would never consider switching to Mac, but that’s only because PC suits my needs. Different students need different types of software.
