Questions about stanford

Hi,
I had a couple questions about the way GPAs are recalculated at Stanford and how much class rank affects your entrance. Not a big deal if you chance me, im only a sophmore and my main concern is just for someone to answer my questions, but thanks if you do. For my school I was wondering how they would re-calculate my GPA, would a 7 be recalculated as a 4 or would it be a 6? Is it true your when they re-calculate your GPA they dant use your freshamn year?

Stanford uses the 5-point scale for weighted, 4-point scale for non-weighted, I believe.

no, stanford recalculates everything on a 4.0 scale.

fuzzylogic is correct. stanford computes GPA on a 4.0 level, using A=4, B=3, C=2 for ACADEMIC classes only (math, science, english, social sciences, foreign language)

So my C in design technology: product design last year will be excused then. considering it was the only C amongst 5 As! hehe... i bet i'm not the only one to mess up on a practical exam!
