Questions about Textbooks

I started to begin shopping for textbooks when I noticed that the ISBN for A&O SCI 3 w/ Lew did not seem to be found on any other sites.

Here's the info. for that class's textbook btw: Aguado (9780558589288), Understanding Weather & Climate (Loose-leaf), PEARSON
Loose Leaf, , 10.

So should I just disregard the ISBN and just purchase the textbook elsewhere if I find the right deal or should I purchase it from the UCLA Store just to be on the safe side? And also for my Music History 135A class about opera, the site says that textbooks for that section could not be found at this time. Should I just wait until class starts and I receive my syllabus b4 I start thinking about getting the textbook?

Sorry about the freshman anxiety, I just want to make sure nothing's wrong. I'd appreciate any help!

Most of the popular sites don’t sell loose-leafs (which have different ISBNs). Go for the hardcover or softcover if it is cheaper than what UCLA is selling it for (usually 95% of the time).

Edit: the loose-leaf looks slightly cheaper than the softcover version on amazon and half after tax. Unless if you see this in time: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190433914939

hi, i am taking the same class and currently in the same position… what did you decided on??

i took that class, and you don’t need the book at all. Lew gets all of his questions from the lecture notes. i got an A- in it, with not book, and with a D on the final. it’s real easy.
