I'm an international student, and I have been admitted by UCSB. My admitted major is the Financial Mathematics and Statistics, Pre-major. I have known that this major has not been opened for such long times, so I'm pondering whether the major is professional or not. Since I have not searched much information from the UCSB official website, I hope that someone can help me and introduce to me some information about this major.

are you a freshman? or transfer student?

UCSB is extremely highly regarded in the sciences, particularly Physics (Kavli Institute for Theorectical Physics), Computer Engineering/Computer Science, and Cognitive Science (one of the foremost in Virtual Reality technologies).

The PStat department and, in particular, the Financial Mathematics and Statistics program and major are very highly respected. UCSB has never had a Business Administration program, but this major can take you further than most MBAs from top schools if you apply yourself well.
