Questions about USC - Resident Honors Program

Just got this pamplet in the mail about Resident Honors Program and I have a question about it.

Since senior year in school is skipped, does it mean that it is 4 years in college or 5 years in college.

Four years in college – maybe less if you enter with a ton of AP credits. You enter as a freshman, on a par with all other freshmen. With many RHP students, the high school will count your first year at USC as your senior year of hs and allow you to graduate hs with your class following your freshman year of college.

Anyone knows how many students got this invitation to the RHP? And how many actually applied?

No idea how many get it, but my son did. He did not apply but is a freshman at USC now. Is there any scholarship possibilities if you start with RHP?

I think that a fairly large number of hs students receive info based on high test scores. In terms of number of applicants & acceptances, I don’t think RHP publishes its stats, but my impression is that the percentage of accepted applicants mirrors that of the university at large. Does anyone have more specific info?

NC mom – All RHP students receive at least a 1/4 tuition scholarship for all four years. If they apply and get their materials in by the university’s Dec 1 scholarship deadline, they are considered for other merit grants, on a par with all other applicants to USC. If they are national merit finalists, the 1/2 tuition scholarship kicks in sophomore year, replacing the 1/4 scholarship they received freshman year.

Thanks Nester! That is great!
