Resident Honors Program

specifically, how is financial aid for participants?

Financial aid is the same for RHP students as all others. You apply for finaid in the same manner as regular applicants.
From what I understand RHP students are well taken care of, it's a great program if you are ready for college.

I'm well taken care of.

-RHP class of '09

My son was recruited by USC for the early entrance honors program (I assume that is the one you are talking about when you leave high school a year early to start USC). As I recall, he was offered $8,000. last year (merit aid) and was told (if I remember correctly), that merit aid would increase if he was national merit. My son did not apply for the program because he wanted to get his high school diploma. He is going to USC this year as a freshman.

I somehow got into the RHP this year.

I got 8k as a scholarship.
and with all the University grants and such, I will only pay half.
If I manage to be a national semi-finalist, I will also get a half scholarship.
Peace.

got into rhp this year as well, but im not going. got the 1/4 scholarship as well.

USC's undergrad admissions works like this (same for RHP):
There's the regulare deadline for the applications (January something maybe?) but if you want to apply for scholarships at the same time (trustee's is a full scholarship, presidential is half) you need to submit your app by Dec. 1. Then I think (check the website to be sure) your application into the school doubles as a scholarship application.
