Questions/Cons of using AP Credit?

If I were to go to UC Davis, what would be the cons of using AP Credits? Would this make me less prepared for more advanced courses?

I will be a biochem major.

Which courses would I be enrolled in if I chose to use the following credits?
AP Bio-5
AP Chem-4
AP Calculus AB-5
AP English Lanh-4

Planned: Calc BC, German, Physics C, and US Hov

There can really only be positives about using your AP Credit scores.
Although you passed your AP Bio and Chem tests, you still will have to take other bio and chem classes at UCD because that goes with your majors. If you use your AP scores, you probably just go to the higher level classes or you skip the basic/lower level classes.

The only con I can think of is that sometimes you’re not allowed to take the course equivalent for credit (but usually you are.) But it’s no reason not to take an AP test; they’re not letting you take the course at UC Davis because your high school course would have been very similar.

If you go here[/URL”>http://catalog.ucdavis.edu/PDF/CollegeBoardAdvancedPlacement.pdf]here you can see what AP tests count for which classes. With your scores, you can skip Math 16a/17a/21a and you’re exempt from the lower division writing requirement. Sometimes a class doesn’t exempt you from anything you need, but you’ll still get units which can be used towards graduation and will give you a better pass time.
