Coming from a '15 PACE student, “(Admitted to PACE? Details about your orientation are not yet available. Check back later for more information.)”, is a little disheartening especially since registration is so close.
I wanted to know from '13, '14 PACE students, what was orientation like? How did registering for classes work? Is it separate registrations for UT and ACC? For the housing and roomate we are given during orientation, are PACE student’s paired up?
Also is it really true we don’t get banners? that kinda removes us from the " youre still a ut student" vibe they try to give off…
As a potential Pace '15 student, I want to tell you guys that this year PACE students can only be auto admitted to liberal arts, unlike last year when students could be auto admitted to liberal arts or undergraduate school of studies.
I’m really hesistant after learning this.
We are still eligible for internat transfer though
@colaudrey
Do you know if internal transfer has better chances than external transfer? I haven’t found data on that yet but i have found that for mccombs its 6% admitted for OOS vs 16% admitted in state.
@colaudrey you may want to check with admissions if PACE is considered an internal or external transfer.
@punctiliouseye hey! just wondering, where did you learn about that? I didn’t see it in any of the places I’ve been reading up on. Even my UT admissions counselor for my city said that we’re guaranteed transfer into UGS.
If you go to http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/pace and select “compete for admission” it brings you to the UT internal transfer page. So i would assume it is internal.
With PACE, you a a UT UGS student and a student at ACC. So during spring 2016 all youre doing is internally transfering to lib arts or UGS, or applying for transfer in any other college
From an admissions counselor:
"PACE students will be considered a combination of both an external/internal applicant. They will need to meet the requirements of an internal transfer applicant when it comes to pre-requisite courses needed, but will want to maintain a high GPA of an external applicant. "
"Students who complete PACE will automatically be placed into the College of Liberal Arts. "
No mention of auto into UGS for this year. If one has to maintain the GPA of an external applicant, then it seems like PACE is an external transfer into all schools except COLA. You may want to call and check with admissions.
PACE students won’t be able to come in to UGS just like transfer students cant, and trust me you don’t want to. UGS is basically purgatory
