Questions on Major Course Requirements, GE Requirements, and AP Credits

Hi! I have a couple questions on the topic subjects that I hope to get answered.

I'm currently accepted as an Undeclared major in CLAS. Is there a portal/link available online detailing the course and credit requirements for each individual major?

I'm hoping to take the Thematic Option if I get accepted into the honors program. Does the Thematic Option program replace GE Requirements entirely or are there still GE courses that I have to take?

I took and got a 5 in AP Calculus AB last year. I'm currently signed up to self study and take the AP Calculus BC exam this year. However, I do not believe I will be a math, science, or engineering major at USC. I may, however, possibly choose to pick up a business major. Does the AP Calculus BC exam clear any required class for business majors that AP Calculus AB would not?

Alternatively, the USC website states that I can earn up to 32 units of elective credit for AP classes. Can I earn 8 credits from taking both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, or only 4? In the same vein, does it matter what subject area that elective credit is issued in? Can I get 12 units of elective credit, for example, from APUSH, AP Euro History, and AP World History?

Thank you so much in advance for any and all answers to these questions!

According to here: [USC ARR : Articulation : AP Waiver of Course Prerequisites](http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/apprerequisites.html)

For business students, getting a 4/5 on AP Calc AB gets you out of Math 118 - Calculus for Business. If you get a 4/5 on AP Calc BC, you’ll get credit for Math 118 also, but nothing more. For engineering majors, a 5 on AP Calc BC exempts them from both Math 125 - Calculus I, and Math 126 - Calculus II.

TO replaces the USC core GE requirements; it’s basically another form of GEs.

As for the elective credits, I believe you’ll receive credit for 8 units for Calc AB and BC, and 12 units for APUSH, World History and Euro. At the end of the day, your AP credits just go toward your registration time for classes and nothing more. (The more credits you have, the earlier your registration time.)

AP credits do not enable early graduation?

^^Yes they can, as long as you fulfill other major and minor (if doing a minor) requirements. Also, getting a 4-5 on certain APs can replace required GEs–for example AP Bio or AP Chem will replace the science requirement and AP Euro or AP Art History replaces the required History course.

OTOH, many students really enjoy the electives at USC. If the goal is graduating early (and saving a year’s tuition), it can be done in some cases. But at the expense of sampling courses in many different schools. My s took a Linguistics class (How to Create Alien Languages) from the professor who invented the Navi language for “Avatar.” He took a Chess class from a Russian Language professor who also happens to write the chess column for the Los Angeles Times. And he is planning to study abroad for a semester–which will only satisfy his language requirement, but allow him to take Architectural drawing classes.

Lots of great options.

Ok, that makes sense. DS will come in with 32 credits I believe and he is going into Computer Science, so he can also minor in Business then plus add some interesting electives.
