Questions on Notre Dame App

I am currently working on the Notre Dame application, and just have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer.
-On section 5, when we are supposed to check the boxes for our high school curriculum, what does each box represent? My school runs on a block schedule, so i have 4 classes each semester, so each semester-long class counts for a full year. So how should i represent this with the boxes? Also, i have previously taken 2 biology classes in a year (Bio and AP Bio), chem and ap chem, etc. How should i represent these with the boxes?

Lastly, i took both Algebra I and Geometry in junior high, so i am lacking in the 3 required years of "ALgebra, Advanced Algebra and Geometry" needed to enter the COllege of Science." Should i somehow explain this, or will they be able to tell?

Not sure about the first one, but I was in the same boat as you for the math thing. If you read the fine print, it tell you not to worry about explaining it if you took those courses before high school- as I would imagine a large percentage of the student body did.

ok, you dont enter a college right away when you are a freshman. you do enter College of First Year Studies. Also, if you have taken more advanced math courses than algebra advanced algebra and geometry, and you fill in those classes, you need not worry. they assume that you have taken them prior to entering high school.

Also, just do the best you can with checking in the boxes. if you feel the need, write an additional short statement clarifying the special situation you are in.

I agree with red...don't worry too much about the boxes, because your official transcript is being sent with your application, too, so admissions will know what happened. I'm sure they've seen similar things before, but if you are still a little leery, just drop your admissions counselor an e-mail or phone call and she'll help you out.
