Hello and 1st of all, thanx for reading all of this ~

over the weekend, i got this mail from ru that was about the rutpp (ru tuition payment plan) and it's SO vague and confusing that i have no idea what to fill out.

plus, i already got fin aid that is almost the whole tuition, but how do i know what else i have to pay for if i don't know what the total cost of 06-07 is??

also, on my fin aid award letter, there are two rows that say total and aid accredited to bill. what's the difference??

if the aid accredited to bill is less than my total, then do i maybe use the other money for textbooks??

but back to the fin aid questions... (sorry ive got a lot, but my parents are making sure that i figure everything out for myself but its VERY confusing!!)

since i'm dorming and i got so much fin aid, im guessing my fin aid pays for my room & board? and how do i know how much my fin aid pays for??

lastly, for now, does anyo know anything about direct/perkins loans?? because i got this entrance counseling form thing and according to it i need 2 references?? and i don't know who to ask, teachers/guidance??

Either Your High School Guidence Councelor Would Be Able To Help With This But I Would Just Call Ru Finacial Aid And Ask Them They Have Been Very Helpful To Us
Good Luck

Hey! I received the same letter over the mail, and I'd be glad to help you.

First of all, the 2006-2007 tuition would be between 17,000 to 18,000 dollars. Your safest bet would probably be 17,967. Just subtract your financial aid from that figure, and that's a pretty decent estimate of your 2006-2007 tuition.

Secondly, TOTAL represents how much financial aid you are receiving from the above-listed sources. ACCREDITED TO BILL is the amount of money RU will take back from your aid if you dont mail in the requested documents (i.e. Work Study Applications, Direct Loan Promissory Note, etc.). Take a look at your Award Letter Guide for more details.

Thirdly, your ACCREDITED TO BILL is money included in your total tuition. If you don't send in your documents, then subtract the ACCREDITED TO BILL from TOTAL and that's the amount of aid you'll be receiving. All in all, SEND IN YOUR STUFF ASAP!

This is a good approximate break-down of your costs:
