I have a very uninformative guidance department, so I'm sure my application has already been screwed up. Nevertheless, my question is, if my SAT scores are included in my transcripts that were sent from my school, is that official enough? Or does UIUC need a copy directly from collegeboard? I didn't realize that I qualified for Illinois residency until late in the game, so I never had my test scores forwarded there.

On another note, I realize that the University has a very large applicant pool, so I was wondering how much personal attention is given to each application? Is it a highly numbers based application process or are essays and extra curriculars valued?

If it is numbers based, what are my chances to LAS with : 4.2 w GPA. Rank 6/370. 1230 SAT score/ Hardest class load possible. My unweighted GPA is not much lower than my weighted one, but I've had one B in highschool.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about your first question, but I cna answer the second. Yes, i do believe their admissions process is highly numbers based. I believe they really only consider the essays/extracurriculars if you are a borderline candidate. Also, I would say your chances at UIUC are fantastic. I applied LAS on October 22. My transcripts got to UIUC on November 1, and I was admitted on Novemeber 1. My class rank is 12/290 and, at the time, i had a 30 on the ACT (have since got a 32). Good luck.

As to your first question, the old rule was that Illinois accepted the transcript test scores and then you needed to send the official score after admission to verify. However, the web site this year says you need to send the offcial score to complete your application and the application lists the official score from the testing agency as an item needed to complete the application.

Okay. Thanks for the reponses guys! I guess that means my application won't be complete for a while, because the testing agency says it takes about 3 weeks to send. bleh
