I just was accepted! I was planning on majoring in Chemistry, and going to grad. school for it. How does Brown do with acceptances to top graduate schools?

Very well, as far as Law School, Business School, and Medical School go. I saw that among Law School applicants, 92% of Brown students who applied got into at least one of their top three choices. For medical school is 80%, and for business school is almost 100%. I dont know about Graduate school for Chemistry but I expect it to be excellent too.

Grad school admissions outside of Med, Law, and Business are based very much on the connections you make and the research you do and publish. At Brown you’ll have a good chance to conduct a fair amount of research. I’ve had a much easier time finding my way into labs here than my friends at my state school did.

But your ability to get into grad schools will lie on you wherever you go, not on the reputation of your undergrad. Admissions to grad school is very diff from admissions to undergrad.

Do you have AIM? You should IM me, I’m a senior chemistry concentrator.

FWIW, all of my friends who have applied to grad school for chem have been getting into places like Stanford, Berkeley, MIT, and Harvard
