Questions

How is the FA at FSU? I'm OOS and have a 0 EFC. Probably won't qualify for any merit-based aid.

Also, is the Hospitality College hard to get into? I attended Purdue and left due to financial reasons to Johnson and Wales Univ. this fall. I left Purdue with a 2.0 GPA mainly of personal problems. However, I think I will be able to rebound with over a 3.5 GPA at JWU.

I think that FA is problematic at FSU for OOS transfers. I think you first have to focus on meeting admission requirements. I think your first obstacle is that you are transferring in after being at two prior Universities. They will look at your overall GPA, not just the one from J&W. If you are transferring in as a Junior, you will be competing against ALOT of students applying with their AA from a Florida community college or state U, and they are given priority. For any given major, when you apply your courses will be held up against the academic map for that major, and if you are not on track, that is another obstacle.

But keep up the good work, and hopefully you will get more responses here. I do not know if Hospitality is a limited access major. The school is undergoing change with the budget cuts, and will be changing and going under the business school’s umbrella.

Good Luck.

The hospitality management program isnt limited access but the requirements to get in are very competitive.

Hospitality is a limited access major.
“Hospitality administration is a limited-access major. To be admitted to the major, you must have completed at least 52 hours, have earned a “C-“ or better in the Admission Prerequisite Courses (CGS2100, MAC2233, ECO2013, ECO2023, ACG2021, & STA2023), and have the required overall GPA.”

Oh, send me some Del’s C:

By the way if anyone has more info about the hospitality management program (maybe some personal insight) it’d be great, I actually just switched my major to be hospitality management. Hopefully study abroad in Switzerland
