Questions

My school doesn't offer AP Government, AP Economy, or AP Language. I will, however, be taking Honors Gov / Econ, in addition to AP Literature and another advanced English class (all of these classes, I know, have good teachers).

My questions are:

1) Will these classes prepare me well for the respective AP exams?
2) Is it a good idea to take the AP exams, since I am taking easier versions of the classes anyway?
3) Do colleges look at AP exams that you took without the classes--do good scores look good to them?

Thank you!

For #3, it won’t matter too much in admission. It will just help you for getting college units and maybe pass out of some classes.

Only you can answer that. Talk to your teachers and kids in school. We don’t know how your classes are taught.

Yes, if you feel prepared, it’s a good idea. You can get college credit.

They definitely consider them, but it would be better if you had the AP class. Since it’s not offered in your scenario, that’s a moot point.
