Quick Admissions Question-Medical

I am an applicant to the Academy and the deadline is nearing (jan. 31st). My B&G stated that I have 100% of my application done. I have received nomination and most everything is completed. My one problem is that I just looked today and saw that I am not "medically qualified" by DoDMERB for Sleep Disturbances that I had 2-3 years ago.

I was wondering if my application would still go to the review board without my medical being qualified. And how is it that they notify you of considerations for waivers..

Did you get a letter from the DODMERB about this disqualification? My son got a letter back in August that he was disqualified for a tree nut allergy but to go ahead and apply to the USNA - that they would apply for a waiver if he was determined to be qualified. He finished his application end of January (English teacher could not figure out how to get his letter in to the USNA site) and then received a letter last week that the USNA would accept him if he gets a medical waiver. So long story short - the USNA willl need to request a medical waiver for you to get the appointment. I was told that it was a 4-6 week process - my son’s waiver application is now in week 2.
Good luck to you!

Thank you, I got my letter of disqualification, and after a few hours spent on the phone between DoDMERB and USNA I found out the same as your son. I will be given appointment if I can qualify for the waiver. I haven’t been notified exactly of what i need to do for the waiver, but I was told that a letter from my doctor and a signed letter from myself could help.
