yes 1050 for me!

In 7th grade, for CTY. I got 1110.

550 math 560 verbal. I would have gotten a higher math score if I hadn't been extremely ethical and not put in the answer I got just before time was up.

7th grade, just before 13th birthday for CTY, 580 math, 600 vbl.

SAT: 7th
PSAT: 8th

Yes i have...SAT in 7th & 8th, because it doesn't count anyway.

Out of curiosity, what percentage of you all did it for CTY?

sat in 7th grade for the Hopkins talent search... 945? could you get 5s? Somewhere in the mid-900s anyway...

is there a certain amount you're supposed to improve by the time you take them for real?

i just finished the full length princeton review practice test, and im in 8th grade.

i got exactly 1600.

is that HORRIBLE?!

It's not bad for 8th grade. You don't say what your scores were for each section, but it sounds like you might qualify for some of the Johns Hopkins CTY/CAA or distance learning programs if you were interested in them.

it was 490math/530writing/580reading

cool maybe i'll look into that.

it seemed bad when i first looked at the score though..

cty in 7th.
i got something clost to a 1150

mj93 - I think you'd qualify for CAA in math/science and CTY in humanities (CTY programs have higher score requirements than CAA). The website is www.cty.jhu.edu

Quick question about CTY: are you supposed to send scores to them or are they supposed to contact you?

they usually contact you through your school in the beginning of 7th grade based on standardized test scores to offer the test. you usually take the test THROUGH cty. but if you go to the website I think there are ways to join the summer program w/out being part of the talent search thing

You don't need to take the test through their talent search. From their website FAQ:

Is my child eligible for summer programs if he has not participated in the CTY Talent Search?

Any child who earns the required qualifying scores is eligible for CTY. Keep in mind, though, that when we assign students to courses, we assign returning students first, then Talent Search participants, and then other applicants.

8th Grade for me.. for CTY of course.

800 math
700 writing
520 CR???? < yeah.. about that CR lol

^genius! 10char

Duke TIPs in 7th grade: 1200

Yeah, seventh for Duke TIP (yay nerd camp)
530 math, 680 verbal.

I took it in eighth. I had the flu that weekend so it was tons o' fun! (The proctor stopped by my desk in the middle of the test and was like, "Are you okay? Do you really feel like finishing this?")
