Scenario :
I receive a 3 on the AP Microeconomics Exam.
Based on the AP Charts for say... UCLA I would get 4 units. (but no course credit)
So now I attend a CC and take Microeconomics, 3 semester units.

Would I receive credit for both my AP Exam and the course taken at CC ? (meaning 8.5 quarter units , after converting semester to quarter)

thanks!

quick answer: no, you won't be credited 8.5 units for your total units count.

However, I'm not sure which of the two you would receive credit for. Obviously since the microecon class counts for more units it would be in your advantage to have that one count. Best thing to do would be to ask a UCLA rep.

why wouldnt i get credit?

I have friends at UCLA who receive credit for their AP exams but no course credit , so they have to take the course (diff courses for diff people). In the end they receive ap credit and credit for taking the course ... 8 units.

hmmm i'm not sure how that works then :/

i was basing that off my own experience with poli sci.

i took the ap gov exam and passed it in high school, but i also took poli sci 1 my first quarter at CC. i was informed that berkeley would only accept credit for one of the two...but I was told this by my CC counselor.

shrugs

hopefully someone else can chime in, or maybe it'd be best to contact a uc rep.

on the UCLA website you get course credit for scores between 3 - 5 for ap gov (you get credit for either comparative or US , I'm not sure on the difference but either way you get course credit for a 3 and above)

for econ it says unassigned for scores of 3 , but for scores of 4-5 it says either econ1 or econ2 (depending on macro or micro)
