Quick FAFSA Question

Hi, i’m doing my fafsa right now and had a question about what college year I will be in 2018-2019

I’m currently in CC in my second semester. I’m transferring to University in the fall. When I graduate CC I will have around 47 credits completed, however I will be graduating with a full associate’s degree because of my AP and Duel Credit courses in high school. As a result, I will be transferring into my university as a junior.

So, do I put 2nd year or 3rd? I was going to put 3rd but I don’t want it to seem fishy since I put first year on my 2017-2018 FAFSA. Thanks!

You might have to check with the school. I think the loan amount is based on how many credits you have with the school you attend. They might not accept all of your previous credits towards your degree.

If she transfers after completing the degree, she is transferring the degree (60-64 credits). she will be a junior. Now whether or not the she may need additional courses to fulfill her degree requirements is a different issue, but she will have a minimum of number of credits that are associated with her AA degree.

@sybbie719 Yes, with my associate’s degree I will have 61 credits.
