Quick IDOC Question - Institution Specific Documents

Do I need to fill one out for Cornell and Brown?

Cornell's document is called "Cornell Renewal Financial Aid Checklist." The "renewal" would imply having done it already, right? So as a prospective freshman I wouldn't have to do it?

Brown's document is called "Brown Continuing Student Application." The "continuing" would imply having already started, right? So as a prospective freshman I wouldn't have to do it?

Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong because my D is a freshman now so we filled out the continuing forms obviously. But I just checked Cornell’s website and it doesn’t say anything about submitting forms via IDOC for incoming freshman.

Check out https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/forms/20102011forms.cfm

The IDOC is a part of the CSS profile.

It’s used to send in verification papers (W-2s, etc) so the collegeboard can accurately calculate your financial aid.

I’m pretty sure it’s required, for all students.

Well according to this form

https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/finaid/forms/upload/10-11Freshman-App-US-and-Perm-Res.pdf

W-2’s and taxes etc for incoming freshman are to be mailed directly to Cornell Financial Aid processing center. There is no mention of IDOC.

I can’t honestly recall if I sent anything to IDOC last year or not.

Cornell doesn’t use IDOC. You don’t need to send your 2009 tax returns to Cornell unless you choose to enroll there.
