Quick Q about Cal Grant!

I'm currently in a community college & this is my 2nd semester. Last year in HS, I applied for the Cal Grant, and didn't get awarded anything, so I'm re-applying again. I already submitted my FAFSA.

Question is, what gpa do I submit? My HS gpa or the gpa based on my Fall classes (15 units) ? Which one is the one that counts?

Iv'e been trying to call my FA office but they're closed.

I have the same question.

I am in a California Community College and I applied to UCs.
How do I verify the GPA? Do I send HS GPA?

bump The deadline is March 2nd :frowning:
BTW my high school was a homeschooling charter school.

bump anybody have any idea?

Ha! I found the answer!!!

If you have 24 or more units - then its your college.
Less than 24 units? - Your HS.

So I have 24 hours to go to my HS and send my gpa form. I can assure you that I will NEVER procrastinate with this again.

Anyone know if “postmarked by March 2nd” means by Tuesday, or does sending it the day of (the 2nd) still count?

Hey, thanks for the answer. Just to confirm, where did you find it out?

Yeah, postmarked means that you could send it on Tuesday using the slowest, cheapest mail available. Just make sure that you tell the company you use (USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc.) to add a postmark to your package.

So I can still send it on Tuesday?? YESSS!!!

I found the answer by downloading the gpa form PDF, and reading all the other pages that came with it. you can find it on their website.

Oh! I forgot to add that if you have 16 accredited units, then that’s called “California CC Re-established GPA” & your CC sends it.

It’s all just so confusing. I’d advise you to take a look at the documents, maybe it’ll clear stuff out.

I forgot to add, but I have 15 accredited units, and another 3 from my AP English .

So I don’t think I’m using my CC gpa since they haven’t even submitted anything. And online it doesn’t list my AP test as accredited :frowning: bummer

I called them and confirmed it. You only need to send HS GPA if you have less than 24 units.
