Quick question for Premeds

Which of the required premed courses are ususlly taken during the freshman year? I have heard that most sudents take Chem 1A, Chem 3A, and Bio 1A during the frshman year. I am trying to plan my courses for first semester and im wondering which classes i should take (i am a pol sci major).

By the way, i am a spring admit and i will be doing the Fall Program for Freshman during the fall semester. They have allowed me to take only one science course at the main Berkeley during the fall semester except Chem 1A. So do you suggest that i take Bio 1A during first semester? Any other course you suggest?

Thanks in advance!

I doubt a lot of freshman take Bio 1A. It's hard as ****. :) And I think Bio1A needs Chem3a and chem3b as prereq (can take 3b concurrently)....though this restriction is not always checked by the adminstrators.

And another word of advice (given to me by other upperclassman): if you need to take MCB102 then it's good to take it with Bio1A cuz there're some overlaps.

I'm taking Chem 1A, and Physics 8A first semister.

calpyourfeet, r u engineering major?

No sah, I am currently undeclared but looking into double with MCB and something else, English/History/Rhetoric maybe.

so why would u want to take physics first semester?

I'm kicking ass in my current physics C class and we're using the same book as Physics 7A, I might as well take physics while it's fresh in my head.
