Doesn't certain scores on certain AP tests allow you to skip out of a class and get credit towards graduation? And can't you use APs to pass out of GE courses at college?

Wow...he means one benefit of having "Junior Status" as a freshmen is that you may have time to have a girlfriend/boyfriend (I don't know what gender you are). After seeing how you couldn't even understand a simple joke, I'd say good luck finding a girl/guy.

Haha okay, I am a bit slow with jokes..

Uh.. thanks notaznguy, but I am happy with my gf right now so I don't need any luck.

"Assuming that you're in L&S, there's a 19 unit max, which approximately 4-5 classes, depending on the class."

Wait, so I won't be able to utilize all my credits? Don't most of the AP credits allow me to skip some classes?

UCLA Undergrad Admissions: AP Credit - College of Letters and Science

a lot of them just give you empty units. they wont count towards GE requirements either.

the biggies they can get you out of are: english comp 3, foreign language, and math 31A/3A and 31B/3B.

although i think a lot of people who pass out of math with AP still take it. it will be a GPA booster and maybe introduce you to things that werent covered in calc AB/BC.

You'd think that AP tests exempt you from classes, but in actuality, very few do...:(

19 unit limit refers to limit per quarter for your studylist... not a limit on your units coming in...

Oh alright, thanks liyana179.

VTECaddict, thanks for the link. On that webpage, AP courses that have a title or course # at UCLA can be exempted if I pass out with AP right? The empty units are just those with unassigned units?

^ yes
10char

Okay, so even if I am not majoring in.. say history, but I passed AP euro, world, and US test, I can use those units to get out of history GEs (if there is any?)

I will major in Bizecon, so is it better for me to focus my APs more on math/humanities?

You cannot use them to get out of GEs.

oh, and if you get 600+ on the math portion of the SATs it satisfies the math part.

really? that's pretty cool-SAT I's or SAT II's?

on the SAT I's

What math part?

Im not sure, its the quantitative reasoning thing. My friend showed me her URSA print out and it said that it was satisfied with the 600 score.

Ohh that. I think taking any math class at UCLA satisfies that anyways.

yeah
nothing special
