Quick question.

Hello all, I'm new here. I'm currently a senior in high school, and actively applying to colleges. Most of my schools did not require an essay, but the one I'm applying to now does. I read the prompt, responded, and I feel that it is a solid essay. However, my question is how long they are actually looking for it to be, or if they care. It says that approximately 2 pages, double spaced is recommended. Mine is almost exactly 2 pages double spaced. Should I try to stretch it a little more to show that I care, or do they not really like when people do that? Thanks

If you have to add filler words to lengthen your essay, DON’T STRETCH IT. Each word should have a reason to be in your essay.

Most people have issues with trying to make their essays more concise, not longer o_o

Alright, good. That’s what I wanted to hear. As the essay sits, it is very (in my opinion) concise and straight to the point and each word does have meaning. I’ll leave it the way it is, and not worry about adding filler words. Thanks!

Also it says ‘approximately’ - key word there.

I know… I’m just used to always trying to do good on papers and such in school so when it says do approximately or at least a certain amount, I always do a little more.
