I just recently became interested in Notre Dame and don't know a lot about it. Can someone tell me what are the best major avalible at ND and what types of majors it is known for?

Well if you are a senior now it's too late to apply...

ND is a strong all around school. They're good in pretty much everything. Most applicants don't apply for a specific major--they want the whole ND experience.

We're not good at everything, I won't defame any departments here. But the premier departments are business, philosophy, theology, political science, architecture and premed.

Engineering? The relationships ND has with GE, Boeing, Lockheed, etc. not to mention numerous other engineering companies must say something about the engineering program as well!

yeah, i'd say the same as bpayne1, and add engineering as well. not only is engineering one of the tough majors, but it's a major payoff as their graduates make the most money (on average) after 4 years at Notre Dame.

i always thought the engineering program was good... i know it's probably the most difficult at ND, but how come ND engineering never shows up in the rankings for engineering schools?

Psychology is also very strong and is respected by graduate schools. I can tell you now that I am in graduate school that I was VERY well prepared!

Psych DOES have a good rep.

Any of the liberal arts are good I think--history particularly.

ND is known for its COllege of Arts and Letters... Mendoza Business is picking up steam, as well....
