Hi all, I need some help regarding what majors to choose for ND. What majors are ND famous for? I am interested in engineering and science. Is ND good at them?

Thanks

ND is especially well-known with Philosophy and Theology, along with a very solid business school, but really all of the majors here are good and both of those are solid. Shellzie can probably say more than I, but seriously, the weird thing about ND is pretty much everything is good...I am not kidding.

college football...

bus. school is #3 (undergraduate)
sciences are really well-known

:D college football...:D

gotta love that.... also kinda budding in.... but hows the premed program

Pre-med is very strong. I think we had a thread about a month ago where we pulled out the numbers from the Observer, but ND does very well when it comes to getting its students into grad school. Just search for that thread if you are interested, or let me know if you have problems and I will try to find it.

Ok ... thanks..... I think that is what I am leaning toward to "major" in

Philosophy is one of the best in the country, as is the business school. I've heard good things about the math program and sciences are also strong. The whole pre-med thing is iffy- Notre Dame is pretty good at getting people into med school, but I'm still unconvinced about their whole "pre-professional" program. I think it's better to major in an actual science to get the pre-med requiremetns in, rather than takign the pre-professional track. But maybe I'm just bitter because my science classes are so much more hardcore than theirs. :) I can't really say much about engineering. However, as Irish said, all the majors here are pretty storng, I haven't really heard anything negative about any of them.
