Quickest Route to UT Austin?

Hi guys.
Like many, I am a high school senior that has been capped. However, I don't want to attend a feeder school for a year. I've been doing some research on the quickest way to get into UT Austin. I plan on transferring in the spring. On the transfer webpage it claims your an auto transfer admit if you:

1.Graduate in the top 10% of your class
2.Start college at a Texas community/junior college after graduating from high school
3.Complete the core curriculum at a public junior college or other public or private lower-division institution of higher education.(30 hours)
4.Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a four-point scale or the equivalent.

I'm currently not in the top 10% but I am 2 spots away from it. I've taken 4 dual credit classes at another community college which totals to 15 hours of transferable credit. I am planning to apply to Austin Community College Honors Program for the fall semester in the hopes of getting automatic transfer acceptance in the spring. From there, I will take an additional 15 hours which will be enough to transfer UT Austin for the spring semester when my dual credit hours are combined.

Sounds like a good idea? Will UT accept that I'll be a freshman transferring after one semester?

Depends. What major are you looking into?

I wanted to major in Kinesiology(exercise science)at the College of Education. I heard it’s a restricted major so I will probably major in Biology instead.

Have you looked into appealing your decision first? It does not always work, but there have been people on these boards where it has. I would do that first. You have nothing to lose and if you make contact with an admissions person, I would only think it would increase your chances of a transfer if you make a positive contact.
