Quiet Floors

what are some schools with quiet floors/housing?

Most schools have this option for the dorms. Which schools are you interested in attending? Home state?

I just checked and I found my top choices have it! Thank you @Gumbymom ! Any opinion on dorming on a quiet floor?

Substance-free, wellness and quite floors/halls will all generally be options for you. Quiet hours in residence halls may be college-wide.

It’s much easier to find a quiet place to study like the library or student center than hangout in a more social dorm. It would be more fun being in a more active dorm with lots of freshman.

Some of this of course depends on the school. You certainly don’t want to live where music is blasting at midnight Sunday - Thursday.

@merc81 do you know of any 24 hr quiet floors?
@BatesParents2019 wait so is it a good choice?

I like quiet lol especially when I study

It depends on your personality and the school. It might be a good idea at Penn State but not at others.

@BatesParents2019 why? Lol I’m sorry if I’m being annoying I’m just curious.

Also how competitive is it to get into the wellness corridors in vassar ?

I would think at Vasser students are reasonable. Ask on the Vassar forum if you need a quiet dorm. It may be the best choice for you but perhaps you are too worried about it.

If you request a wellness floor at Vassar you will get it. It is not library-level of quiet, of course, but noise levels are low.

This isn’t really a thing in the dorms at Vassar (maybe at certain parts of senior housing…). At least some dorms, however, have a study break with cookies around 10 on some nights…

@collegemom3717 then what are the wellness corridors ?

Not sure if I understand what your question is?
